Why not let Cre8ive Events take you and a group of friends to either the annual wine throwing weekend in Haro, in the beautiful Rioja region of Spain, 29th June – 1st July or to the wine tasting festival weekend in Logrono, 21st - 23rd Sep if you prefer to drink rather than waste your wine!!!
Spaniards seem rarely to need much of a reason for a fiesta or festival of some sort and you can pretty much guarantee that wherever you are in Spain there will be some kind of party going on somewhere in honour of a patron saint .
In La Rioja they produce fine wine for drinking, and a cheaper variety for throwing at the annual Batalla del Vino in and around the historic town of Haro. This particular festival is in honour of the patron saint, San Pedro.
Each year bands of townsfolk and people from all over the world ascend a particular hill and throw, jetison or hose quantities of red wine on the perceived "enemy". It is entirely good natured , and last year over 50,000 litres of wine were thrown.
This weekend will include one day at the wine throwing battle with a late night partying in the streets, followed by a day in the beautiful town of Logrono which can involve a wine tasting morning in the Rioja vineyards, followed by a late afternoon “paseo” which is a local tapas bar hoping custom.
