This will be a weekend which combines an informative appreciation of the wines of Champagne with luxurious accommodation and excellent cuisine.

Reims, the city of kings and the gateway to Champagne is less than 2 ½ hours drive from Calais and an ideal location for a Grape Weekend. Enjoy a city of possibilities, a region of gourmet dining and some of the finest wines in the world

The weekend will take you to the three principal areas where specific grape types predominate. These are Montagne de Reims (Pinot Noir), Marne Valley (Meunier) and Cote de Blancs (Chardonnay).
Also enjoy a spectacular Champagne tour, giving an imaginative and entertaining introduction to the drink of pleasure and luxury. Following which you can taste a selection of their Champagnes.

Itinerary 

• A return Dover to Calais ferry crossing with P&O or SeaFrance Ferries for a car and two passengers (other options available).
• 2 night’s bed and breakfast at your chosen hotel.
• Full day private coach tour in a luxury coach on the Saturday
• a visit to a medium sized producer of grand cru Champagnes for a full tour of the Champagne making process from vine to bottle + at least 3 tastings.
• a gourmet 4 course lunch at a top local restaurant or Champagne House including accompanying Champagne and wines.
• a visit to a smaller producer in a second Champagne village + at least 3 tastings.
• a visit to a larger prestigious Champagne house (e.g. Moet & Chandon, Ruinart, Pommery) including a tour of their cellars + 2 tastings.
• An English speaking guide for the tour who will provide information on the region and the wines.
